Travel insurance provider TIF Group re-enters broker market

The then managing general agent hit pause on sales in the summer of 2021 when its capacity provider, German insurer Union Reiseversicherung, pulled out of the UK market, citing Brexit as the reason for doing so.

It rejoined the UK consumer market in January 2022 in partnership with Collinson Insurance.

Now a managing general underwriter Tif Group detailed that brokers can use its bespoke agent portal under the Suretravel brand to sell travel insurance directly to customers.

It added that the portal also uses the medical risk rating tool Protectif.

Amber Moon, Suretravel manager, commented: “We’re excited to be back in the broker space, which was an important part of the business until we had to pause sales.

“Our new portal will give both brokers and agents easy access to travel insurance products, especially for customers with pre-existing medical conditions who may find it hard to find suitable, affordable insurance elsewhere.”

Moon concluded: “We strongly believe that there is a real need for choice in the UK market for travel insurance policies and related services, particularly those that are aimed at helping consumers with medical conditions find suitable insurance at affordable prices, allowing them to travel.”
