CDL has reported a rise in profit after tax to £11.2m in 2021, up from £9.8m the year before.

Operating profit was also up year-on-year from £11.7m to £15.5m.

The rises for the year to 30 September came as turnover increased by just over £1m to £53.8m.

The uptick in revenue reversed the decline in performance in 2020 when the software specialists slipped back to £52.7m from £52.9m in 2019.

In the latest financial year the technology company added a number of brands to its client base, including Co-op Insurance, RAC Insurance and British Gas.

It also highlighted growth within its existing customer base as well as completing migrations to its AWS cloud-based insurer hosted pricing solution for insurers, including Ageas Insurance.

Ecosystem

Nigel Phillips, CDL’s CEO, said: “We have continued to invest in market-leading cloud capabilities, migrating our global insurance ecosystem to become a highly resilient and high performing cloud-only operation.

“Demand for our data and digital platforms is high and we are delighted to have welcomed a number of major brands to the CDL community, in spite of the continuing challenges in the marketplace.

“Having proven our ecosystem at scale, we are also seeing strong interest from overseas and expect to accelerate our international growth in the coming period.”

Amazon Web Services

In its results statement CDL noted it had achieved Amazon Web Services Financial Services Competency during the financial year and secured Amazon RDS Service Ready status for its Strata retail platform as well as the 100 AWS certifications badge.
