The deal adds nearly 20 staff to the consolidator’s risk management business taking the total headcount to approaching 80.

PIB Group has snapped up specialist consultancy Baily Garner (Health & Safety) for an undisclosed sum.

London-based BGHS has been trading for over 30 years serving customers nationally. PIB detailed that the business started out as a team of construction design management planning supervisors within Bailey Garner and grew into a standalone sister organisation becoming a limited company in 1992.

Along with specialisms in construction, environmental and social regeneration BGHS has expanded into other areas of health and safety with sectors including leisure, retail, health care, education and commercial.

Following completion of the deal, the 18-strong team will remain and continue to service their customers, PIB confirmed.

The consolidator noted that the buy will boost its risk management business bringing a number of additional services such as a bespoke web-based application that holds all BGHS commissions and enables clients to manage health and safety, files and documents online, as well as live project information.

Merger

PIB Risk Management was formed in 2018 through the merger of Ford Risk Management and Sigerson Associates who were amongst PIB’s earliest acquisitions.

The division now has around 60 employees, including 40 risk managers. The addition of BGHS takes the total to nearly 80 with the firm committing to grow through further recruitment over the coming weeks.

Paul Lennon, managing director of BGHS, commented: “We are excited to be part of the PIB Group and see this as a fantastic opportunity to leverage future plans for further growth and expansion.

“The ethos within PIB Risk Management is very similar to our own with the passion to be the best that we can be.

“We are looking forward to working closer together to enhance and develop our professional services to a wider audience. Our clients have been key to our success, and we want to continue to provide our clients with the comfort knowing that we have the depth and experience to continue this journey together.”

Reputation

PIB CEO Brendan McManus said: “I’d like to give a warm welcome to Paul and all our new colleagues at BGHS, who are another fantastic business joining PIB Group.

“They have earned an outstanding reputation as trusted advisors in their field of health and safety, which is demonstrated through their long-standing recurring customer relationships.

“With PIB’s investment, I look forward to seeing the business growth further and for the team to keep innovating as they are continually looking for ways to improve and enhance their business model.”
