Paul Moors teams up again with ex-Bollington chief at insurtech

Paul Moors has joined motor broking insurtech GoShorty in his first major role outside of the Arthur J Gallagher-owned Bollington business.

Moors, pictured, was CEO of Manchester-based broker Bollington, which sold to Gallagher in 2021.  

He remains at Gallagher, but has been given the approval to join firms that do not compete with the Chicago-based broking giant.  

The move will see Moors team up once again with Go Shorty’s commercial director Phil Evans. Evans was previously a managing director at Bollington. 

GoShorty is an insurtech that brokes temporary vehicle insurance. Cover for just one hour is offered. 

Planning

Speaking about the GoShorty chairman role, Moors told Insurance Age: “I’m hoping to bring strategic planning, and to assist private equity investors in helping the business grow and develop. 

“Also, putting some structure into the business to ensure it is in a position to develop and grow.” 

Moors has experience with private equity from his time at Bollington, bringing onboard Inflexion. He worked with the Inflexion to grow Bollington and ensure its successful sale to Gallagher.  

GoShorty’s current investors are Major Oak, a Jersey-based private equity house.  

Impressive performance 

Moors detailed that he was impressed with the how GoShorty has handled the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It’s good a good set of insurers, and I’m really delighted by the challenge,” he said.  

Go Shorty managing director and founder Andy Moody, said: “Having recently grown our senior management team, the arrival of Paul as our chairman brings significant additional strength to our executive board. 

“Paul is already a well-respected chairman, and his depth of experience across the insurance industry will be instrumental to our growth over the coming years. We’re delighted to have him with us.”
