Partners& buys loss adjuster Kudos

Deal merger

The broker hopes that the purchase will offer clients and insurers a better overview of risks.

Partners& has announced the acquisition of Kudos Liability Adjusters, a liability loss adjusting business founded in 2011 by Richard Taylor and Adrian Rawlings.

The broker explained that the move will ensure clients understand their risk exposures and that insurers benefit from an enhanced presentation of risks.

Phil Barton, Partners& CEO, commented: “As more brokers commoditise their offering for clients and outsource their claims capability to insurers, we are enhancing our advice capability and investing in a distinctive claims proposition, by bringing in the Kudos team to address complex claims that need a more forensic approach.

“We believe designing a claims defensibility strategy represents an important differentiating factor in our ability to support clients in navigating liability claims.”

Last month, Barton revealed further plans for expansion to Insurance Age. Following the purchase of Town and Country, he stated that the company is targeting £400m in gross written premium in the next few years.

Collaboration
According to Partners&, Kudos brings 13 members of its team operating from offices in Godalming, Leeds, Nottingham and Cardiff.

Richard Taylor, managing director at Kudos, said: “We have carefully considered the next stage of our development, and key to that was ensuring we could ‘buy-in’ to the ethos and reputation of any acquirer.

“Distinct from other possibilities, our immediate draw to Partners& was the mutual appreciation of the core element on which our business is founded, namely the delivery of quality service - one that puts the interests of our clients first.”

Taylor highlighted that, in Partners&, Kudos has found an executive team and a business which embraces delivering a client-centric proposition, combined with the commitment to supporting its team.

“We are delighted to have found ‘the’ partner to supercharge further development of the Kudos brand, building upon its excellent reputation for quality service and technical excellence,” he said.

Barton added: “Richard and Adrian have built a quality business and culture that is aligned with ours, and I’m confident this deal is a positive move for Kudos, Partners& and, of course, our clients.”
