Aston Lark adds wholesale specialist to portfolio
The broker bought London-based ES Risks for an undisclosed sum.
ES Risks has been acquired by Aston Lark in a move which adds a team of 45 to the consolidator’s roster.
The business, established in 2007, is based in London and provides bespoke and niche wholesale (re)insurance facilities to industry clients which include brokers, MGAs and (re)insurers across some 20 countries.
According to Aston Lark, the ES Risk team cover all classes of business, from aviation and marine to surety and super yachts.

Peter Blanc, Aston Lark Group CEO, said: “The ES Risks team brings a whole range of specialist skills to the Aston Lark Group. These experts will help our offices across the UK and Ireland win more business and grow, and I’m very excited by the opportunities that are in front of us.
“Chris Hobbs has built a fantastic business, and I’d like to welcome him and his whole team to the Aston Lark family.”
Founder and CEO of ES Risks, Chris Hobbs, added: “Joining Aston Lark brings an exciting new stage in our journey and will create development and growth opportunities for our business and staff and provide our clients with an even greater breadth of capability and resource.
“It has been a privilege to lead ES Risks to our current level of success, and I look forward to our continued growth in the years to come.”
Deals
It is the sixteenth deal this year for Blanc, who was named CII president last month.
In June, Aston Lark bought Bolton-based Premier Insurance Consultants which added £2m in GWP to the business.
Most recently, Aston Lark expanded its presence in the Irish market with its buy of McMahon Galvin and Brady Burns & Associates in Country Kildare. Prior to Premier Insurance Consultants, its most recent deal in England was its buy of motor specialist DNA Insurance, which it added to the group in April.
